Scott Hall, LPC, NCC
CEO & Founder
Scott Hall LPC, NCC founded Genuine Solutions Counseling Center in 2008. His dream envisioned never turning any patients away, and never passing the buck. He believes in being genuine, transparent, and committed to others. His treatment model includes all parts of the patient: body, mind, and soul. Scott holds a master’s degree from Oakland University and has made it his mission in life to bring needed improvements to the behavioral healthcare industry. Scott enjoys the outdoors, fishing, hunting, hockey, boating, and sailing, and loves to cook.

Hi, my name is Brittany. I am a proactive, responsible, and dedicated office administrator at Genuine Solutions. I thrive on managing complex schedules and ensuring seamless operations. In my free time, I enjoy being in my kitchen, watching football with my man, and thrifting! I love being a part of the Genuine Solutions Family!
Ariel Novak, LLMSW
Director of Clinical Internship and Supervision Program
Ariel is a Limited Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Director of our Internship and Supervision Program. She is delighted to be a part of the team here at Genuine Solutions Counseling. She received her Bachelor's in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and a Master's in Social Work from Northern Michigan University. Ariel has experience in many fields but specializes in Informed Trauma Care and Communication Skills Building. Her commitment is providing individualized care and treatment goals allowing clients to reach their full potential. In her free time, Ariel enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and paddle boarding.


Lisa Stoll, LMSW
Hello, my name is Lisa Stoll, LMSW. I studied psychology at Oakland University for my bachelor's degree. With an early passion for research and clinical work, I went on to graduate school to pursue social work at Wayne State University, where I obtained my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, with a clinical focus in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I worked at the University of Michigan, Addiction Research Center, where I worked on clinical trials regarding substance use and the effectiveness of CBT. I also worked in a community mental health setting as a therapist for a diverse population of individuals. There I was able to highlight my authentic passion for helping others in large volumes of individuals and families. I use a genuine empathetic approach to build trust and comfort for clients. My areas of expertise include: PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse, Attachment & Abandonment issues, Couples therapy, Personality Disorders, LGBTQ issues, Family issues, Teen issues, Suicidal Ideation & Behaviors. Therapeutic areas of expertise include: crisis intervention, CBT, EFT, IFS, Motivational Interviewing, and psychodynamic.
Blake Soulet, LLPC
Blake is a limited licensed mental health counselor. He received his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and is here to help you live a mentally healthy and happy life. In his free time, Blake enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, exercising, and reading.


Carlissa Henry
Carlissa is an LBSW and an MSW intern at Genuine Solutions Counseling. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science and a Master of Science in Management-Healthcare Administration from Wilmington University. She is pursuing her MSW at Chamberlain University and will graduate soon. In addition to her internship, Carlissa works as the Care Coordinator Team Lead for SMI-SUD patients at a Managed Care company, where she oversees a team that ensures comprehensive care for individuals with complex behavioral health needs. Her therapeutic approach focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients change negative thought patterns and develop healthier coping strategies. Carlissa enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and shopping outside of work.
Sierra Gant
Sierra is a Master Level Social Work Intern with a focus on Grief and Trauma. She is excited to be a part of the team here at Genuine Solutions Counseling. She currently holds her Bachelor’s in Human Services and is a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Life Coach. As a Behavioral Clinician, her dedication to supporting individuals through emotional, social, and physical challenges is unwavering. With a robust foundation in human services and mental health, she is well-equipped to develop personalized care plans and facilitate therapy sessions that truly resonate with her clients.


Katie Bonar, LPC
Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and comes with varied experience in the Behavioral Health field. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Central Michigan University and her Master's in Arts of Counseling at Oakland University. Katie is experienced in many aspects of behavioral health but has a special interest in treating anxiety and depression. Katie has a special interest in helping students learn and grow as well. In her free time, she enjoys walking her dog and dining out at local restaurants.
Rachel Blanchette, LMFT
Rachel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with degrees from Grand Valley State University (Go Lakers!) and Mercer University School of Medicine. She has experience working with many walks of life and finds fulfillment in helping individuals and couples find the best versions of themselves. Rachel lives with her husband, two children, and two dogs, and loves playing board games and camping. Rachel is currently a full-time practicing therapist, as well as a supervisor for intern therapists and limited licensed clinicians.


Renee
Renee is a Marriage and Family Therapy student at Capella University and a proud member of Genuine Solutions Counseling. Before pursuing her master's in therapy, she worked in digital mental health and integrated healthcare, driven by a passion for making care more accessible. Renee was drawn to therapy to support individuals navigating life transitions, such as launching children into adulthood, managing caregiving demands, balancing work and home life, and coping with parenting stresses. She also has experience addressing challenges like depression, anxiety, and the need for someone to talk to during difficult times. As an experienced health professional and group coach, Renee brings compassion and expertise to her work. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys daily workouts, cooking, and spending time on the lake.
Sabrina
Sabrina is a counselor intern, wife, and mother of two. She is here to help you transform your relationship with your romantic partner, with your family, and with yourself. Sabrina can help you heal wounds from childhood traumas, internalized societal pressures, and a disconnection from your true self. She specializes in CBT, ACT, solution-focused, and narrative therapy. When Sabrina is not wrapped up in psychological-holistic things, she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, journaling, and gaming.


Liz Vradenburg - Administrative Director
Liz is a highly organized and detail-oriented administrative professional with 32 years of experience supporting teams and managing daily operations. Skilled in handling a variety of office tasks such as scheduling, data entry, customer service, and project coordination, Liz thrives in fast-paced environments. Known for excellent communication skills and a strong ability to multitask, Liz is dedicated to ensuring smooth workflows and contributing to the overall efficiency of the organization. With a proactive attitude and a commitment to problem-solving, Liz consistently provides exceptional administrative support. In her free time, Liz enjoys spending time with her kids and going up to the campground.
Jenna
Jenna is a mental health counseling intern. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of a compassionate community within the mental health field here at Genuine Solutions Counseling Center. She received her Bachelor's in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and is working toward her Master’s degree in mental health counseling at Northwestern University. As an intern Jenna is committed to operating with an open mind and an empathetic and respectful approach to working with a diverse population. Jenna looks forward to working with people in the LGBTQIA2S+ population as well as those undergoing life transitions. Her commitment is providing collaborative, individualized care and treatment goals to aid clients in self-actualization and confidence building. In her free time, Jenna enjoys spending time with her cats, reading, hiking, and creating art.


Emily Tatum
Emily Tatum is a counselor-in-training and a graduate student currently studying at the Family Institute at Northwestern University, where she is pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Counseling. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Physiology from Michigan State University. In terms of her theoretical orientation, Emily adopts an integrative approach, combining her program’s emphasis on psychodynamics—which focuses on past experiences to enhance present living—with a client-centered focus that prioritizes the goals of her clients in counseling. She embraces core counseling values of growth, wellness, empowerment, and development when working with clients. In her free time, Emily enjoys playing with her two cats, Alejandro and Martini, reading, going for walks, and practicing hot yoga.
Lama
Lama is a counselor intern completing dual Master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counselling and Human Services from POST University; she brings a compassionate, client-centered approach to her practice. She is dedicated to creating a safe space where clients feel truly understood and empowered to navigate life's challenges. With particular sensitivity to multicultural differences, especially within Middle Eastern populations, she offers culturally responsive support tailored to each client's unique background and experiences. Her therapeutic approach focuses on helping individuals recognize their inherent strengths and develop practical strategies for personal growth. When not working or studying, she recharges through reading, painting, and enjoying quality time playing video games and watching movies with her family.


Russell
Russell earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and received his Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Central Michigan University. Over the past several years his focus has been on family relationships, providing individual and family therapy for children, teens, and parents. This involved marriage counseling, including gay and lesbian marriage and relationships. Russell also has experience working with eating disorders in teens and adults; diagnosing and treating autism spectrum disorder (in particular, High Functioning Autism). He has experience working with ADHD and ADD in children, teens, and adults. Russell is experienced in treating Depression in teens, and adults; OCD in children, teens, and adults; Transgender teens; and PTSD and sexual trauma in children, teens and adults. Russell has seven years of experience in the field of Alcohol and Substance Abuse counseling. Areas of special interest and expertise include treating social anxiety, mastering anger management, increasing self-esteem, and processing and resolving existential issues.
Jeannette
Jeannette is a counselor intern currently working toward the completion of her M.A. in Counseling and Ed.S. in Professional Counseling. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Africana, Puerto Rican, and Latin Studies from Hunter College, as well as a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from Brooklyn College. Before transitioning into the mental health field, Jeannette spent six years working within the NYC Department of Education, where she gained invaluable experience supporting students and families. Jeannette is passionate about providing an empathic, safe, and inclusive space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. Grounded in a person-centered approach, she aims to walk alongside individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges, helping them reconnect with their strengths and goals. Originally from New York and now based in Michigan, Jeannette balances her professional journey with the joys of motherhood. In her spare time, she can usually be found chasing after her son with Bluey on in the background or soaking in cuddles from her baby girl.


Cheryl Kendall
Cheryl Kendall is an MSW intern with Genuine Solutions Counseling Center. She also holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Grand Canyon University. She is currently enrolled at National University and is expected to graduate soon. Her passion is helping people through difficult times through a positive, strength-based approach. She is also employed at Highfields, where she works with parents in family crises to unify and keep the family together. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and their 5 children, enjoying the sunshine, and learning Spanish.
Matt
Matt is a counseling intern pursuing his Master’s in Counseling at Western Michigan University. He is dedicated to emotional safety, authenticity, and creating environments where clients can thrive. Matt takes an integrative approach to therapy, blending person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and strengths-based techniques to address each client’s unique needs. He is passionate about empowering individuals to discover their potential and navigate their journeys with confidence. Outside of counseling, Matt enjoys gaming with friends, spending time with loved ones, and wake surfing.
